Rashida Ashley is a soprano opera singer, multidisciplinary entertainer, recording artist, and novelist based in New York City. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from NYU, where she also trained in opera, and is currently completing an executive MBA while maintaining an active performance and recording career.

 

Her work lives at the intersection of opera, soul, and the Black spiritual tradition. She has performed at events including Buffalo's Juneteenth 50th Anniversary celebration and Columbia University's Paul Robeson Conference, and she writes, produces, and performs original music blending opera and soul R&B.
